Larry Strickland and the Howard University Men's Tennis team start its 2018 spring season in Annapolis, Md., against Navy Saturday. First-serve is set for 10 a.m.
MATCHUP PREVIEW
On Jan. 15, the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) uncovered its men's tennis order of prediction where HU was projected to finish fourth in the conference's northern division. Howard scored 51 points with two first-place votes. A year ago, the Bison earned a spot in the conference tournament after placing fourth in the division.
Navy will split its squad in half and face a combined six opponents this weekend. They will host four matches at the Tose Family Tennis Center, including Howard, and play two matches on the East Carolina campus in Greenville, N.C. Navy has defeated Howard by the score of 6-1 in each of the last three seasons.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
On Feb. 3-4, Howard hosts Loyola (Md.) at The Washington Tennis & Education Foundation's East Capitol Campus (Jan. 3), before going to Frederick, Va. where they will face the Longwood Lancers in a neutral site match.
Both matches start at noon.
