WASHINGTON (April 22, 2026) - Howard University men's tennis team is set to compete at the 2026 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Tennis Championships in Cary, N.C. The three-day event (April 23-25) takes place at the Cary Tennis Park.

On April 13, HU fell to rival Morgan State (MSU), 4-3, at the Southeast Tennis & Learning Center in D.C.
Shawn Mitchell Yon (Queens, N.Y.) and
Michael Major Jr. (Nassau, Bahamas) won their respective singles matches. The Bison also won two-out-of-three double matches played.
TOURNAMENT PREVIEW
The men's quarterfinal matches start at 2 p.m., Thursday (April 23).
The Bison will start off the weekend with a rematch of their most recent game, playing Morgan State again. Entering the championship, the Bison are fourth in team standings, surpassing Coppin State. MSU is in third place with a 2-3 conference record.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
Winner faces MEAC Regular Season Champion and top-seeded South Carolina State in the semifinal round Friday (April 23) at noon.
