Marcus Weekes (London, United Kingdom) acknowledged for his performances in Cary, N.C. The announcement came immediately after the championship match.
In the No. 3 singles slot, Weekes topped the Bears' Roman Filima in a thrilling three-set match (6-3, 3-6, 6-3) and propelled HU to the MEAC Semifinal Round. He also won his doubles contest, alongside teammate junior
Kendrick Lash (Winston-Salem, N.C.), 6-4.
Howard concluded its season after an impressive postseason push that included an upset victory over No. 4 Morgan State in the MEAC Quarterfinal Round.
South Carolina State (SCSU) secured its sixth consecutive MEAC Championship with a 4–0 victory over Norfolk State Saturday afternoon. Mikalai Bankou earned tournament outstanding player while Bulldog head coach Hardeep Judge grabbed outstanding coach.
