Weekes Named to the MEAC All-Tournament Team

Freshman standout acknowledged for his performance in Cary

CARY, N.C. (April 25, 2026) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) uncovered its men's tennis all-tournament team where Howard University saw freshman standout Marcus Weekes (London, United Kingdom) acknowledged for his performances in Cary, N.C. The announcement came immediately after the championship match.
 
In the No. 3 singles slot, Weekes topped the Bears' Roman Filima in a thrilling three-set match (6-3, 3-6, 6-3) and propelled HU to the MEAC Semifinal Round. He also won his doubles contest, alongside teammate junior Kendrick Lash (Winston-Salem, N.C.), 6-4.    
 
Howard concluded its season after an impressive postseason push that included an upset victory over No. 4 Morgan State in the MEAC Quarterfinal Round.
 
South Carolina State (SCSU) secured its sixth consecutive MEAC Championship with a 4–0 victory over Norfolk State Saturday afternoon. Mikalai Bankou earned tournament outstanding player while Bulldog head coach Hardeep Judge grabbed outstanding coach.
 
Bison Director of Tennis Nicholas Askew and Associate Head Coach Zach Tobias look to reload for the upcoming 2027 campaign in the program's pursuit for another MEAC title.
