Tennis Set to Play Three Matches for Easter Weekend

Bison play Loyola Thursday; women’s squad hosts Delaware State Friday

WASHINGTON (April 1, 2026) — The Howard men's and women's tennis teams take on Loyola (Md.) Thursday (April 2) in Baltimore. First-serve at 2 p.m. Friday (April 3), the Lady Bison continue MEAC play versus Delaware State at the Takoma Park Tennis Courts.

MATCHUP PREVIEW
 
BISON WATCH – WOMEN
 
The women's squad (3-9, 2-1 MEAC) is looking to ride its momentum from Monday's (March 30) victory against reigning MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Champion South Carolina State.
 
Freshman Franchesca Brown (Atlanta) enters the weekend with a 7-5 singles record, including 2-1 in league play. Third-year Bison Imani Jean (Brooklyn, N.Y.) serves as the top singles player for HU.
 
Brown and junior Lauren Oliver (Winston-Salem, N.C.) are riding a four-match win streak as doubles partners.
 
BISON WATCH – MEN    
 
The men's team (0-9) will be using this nonconference matchup as motivation in search for its first win of the season.
 
Sophomore Kamran McIntosh-Ross (Atlanta) leads the Bison with a pair of singles victories. Junior Michael Major Jr (Nassau, Bahamas) competes as the top singles player for Howard.
 
Major and McIntosh-Ross represent Bison Nation as the top doubles squad.
 
HOUND WATCH – WOMEN
 
The women's team (2-8) enters its matchup looking for redemption from their previous loss
Against HU a year ago, 4-3.
 
HOUND WATCH – MEN
 
The men's squad (1-11) is looking to snap its four-match skid against Howard, dating back to 2021 season.
 
HORNET WATCH – WOMEN
 
As MEAC competition continues, Delaware State (2-9, 1-2 MEAC) is bringing morale from its last victory against South Carolina State.
 
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
