NORFOLK, Va. (February 3, 2026) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) uncovered its men's tennis weekly honors where Howard University junior Michael Major Jr (Nassau, Bahamas) took home the league's Player of the Week. The announcement came Tuesday evening.
 
In Saturday's (Jan. 31) clash versus Georgetown, Major scored the squad's lone point in singles competition with a three-set thrilling victory over the Hoyas' Arthur O'Sullivan (1-6, 7-5, 6-3).
 
This season, Major is 1-0 in singles competition, serving in the team's No. 1 singles slot.
 
Norfolk State freshman Patryk Kowal earned MEAC Rookie of the Week.
 
Friday (Feb. 6), HU looks to bounce back at Villanova. First-serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
