DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (APRIL 29, 2023) - The 2023 spring season for the Howard University men's golf team is winding down as they make their way to the 2023 Northeast Conference (NEC) Championships in Daytona Beach, Florida. The three-day event (April 30-May 2) takes place at the LPGA International course.

TOURNAMENT PREVIEW
 
The 54-hole conference championship is played over the course of three days. The team score is the sum of the four lowest individual scores from each day. All-Tournament honors go to the top 10 finishers.
 
There are a total of nine schools represented in the tournament: Howard; Fairleigh Dickinson; LIU; Maryland Eastern Shore; Merrimack; North Carolina Central; Sacred Heart (SHU); Saint Francis (Pa.) and Wagner.
 
SHU won the 2022 NEC crown and looks to bring home its fifth title in school history.
 
HU is seeking its first NEC Championship after capturing its first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference title a year ago.
 
LAST TIMEOUT
 
At their most recent competition, the Princeton Invitational (April 8-9), the men's golf team finished in the top 10.
 
Senior Everett Whiten Jr. (Chesapeake, Va.) placed sixth in the player standings after shooting 5-under (70-68-70, 208) during the three-round event, including a dozen birdies.
 
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
 
The PGA WORKS Collegiate Championships (May 8-10, 2023) in Birmingham, Alabama, will wrap up the 2023 spring season for the Bison.
