WASHINGTON (May 6, 2026) – Fresh off its third consecutive NEC Championship, the Howard University men's golf team is set to compete in the 2026 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Regional, hosted at the University of Georgia Golf Course in Athens, Ga., May 18-20.
The NCAA announced the regional field Wednesday afternoon during the selection show on Golf Channel. Howard will be one of 81 teams competing across six regional sites, each vying for a spot in the national championship finals.
The Bison earned the NEC's automatic bid after capturing the conference title in dominant fashion last week in Ellicott City, Md. Howard posted a three-round total of 861 (+9), finishing seven strokes ahead of the field to secure the program's third straight title since joining the league in 2022.
Junior golfer
Bear Huff (Riverside, Calif.) led the charge at the NEC Championship, placing second overall with a 211 (-2) while fellow junior
Mathis Perroni (Metz, France) tied for fourth at 216 (+3).
Howard placed three golfers inside the top 18 to earn NEC All-Tournament honors.
At regionals, the Bison will compete against some of the nation's top programs with the goal of advancing to the NCAA Championships. The top five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional site will move on to the finals.
The NCAA Championships are scheduled for May 29 through June 3 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif., where 30 teams and six individuals will compete for the national title.
