WASHINGTON (December 16, 2023) – Top Drawer Soccer unveiled its top 100 freshmen during the 2023 season where Howard University rookie standout Samantha James (Herndon, Va.) made the list. The announcement came Friday (Dec. 15).
 
James finished in the top 20 after guiding the Bison to their first Northeast Conference (NEC) Tournament berth in program history. The Virginia native earned NEC All-Rookie Team honors after racking up 14 points (eight assists & three goals).
 
Additionally, James secured a spot on the Top Drawer Soccer Freshmen Best XI Second Team.
 
Florida State forward Jordynn Dudley top the list, followed by Stanford midfielder Shae Harvey and North Carolina defender Savannah King.
 
Howard finished the 2023 campaign with a 12-6-2 mark (6-3-1 NEC) and reached the conference tournament semifinal round.
