MATCHUP PREVIEW
Sunday's showdown will be third meeting between HU and Elon with the Phoenix winning the first two bouts.
HOWARD
HU (0-1) looks to bounce back after a tough season opening loss versus Towson, 1-0.
Before the year, Howard was projected to finish fourth in the Northeast Conference after going 6-5-3 (5-3-2 NEC) last year.
Forward
Melea Earley (La Mirada, Calif.) led the Bison attack a year ago, finishing with 18 points (eight goals and two assists) en route to earning second-team All-NEC honors.
ELON
Elon (1-0) secured its 10
th consecutive season-opening win Thursday (Aug. 18), posting a 3-0 shutout against American.
Entering the season, Elon was picked to finish sixth in the 2022 CAA Preseason Poll after going 9-6-2 (4-3-2 CAA) a year ago. Midfielder Abby Fusca and defender Katie Lowe earned preseason honorable mention All-CAA honors.
LAST TIMEOUT
Thursday (Aug. 18), the Bison dropped its season opener against Towson, 1-0, at Greene Stadium.
Despite the loss, junior goalkeeper
Kennedy Jones (Flossmoor, Ill.) had an outstanding performance, tallying seven saves a losing effort.
