WASHINGTON (September 26, 2026) - The Howard University women's soccer team returns to action Sunday (Sept.27), traveling to Staten Island, N.Y., to take on Wagner College (WC) in a NEC matchup. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m., at Hameline Field.

MATCHUP PREVIEW
 
HOWARD
 
HU currently holds an overall 1-4-2 record (1-0 NEC) after defeating New Haven (Sept. 20) for its first win of the season.
 
In that matchup, graduate student Jaidyn Curry (Lorton, Va.) and junior Sinclaire Green (Ellicott City, Md.) each found the back of the net. Curry opened the scoring in the 16^th minute off an assist from freshman Dominique Desert (Park Ridge, N.J.) while Green scored the ending goal in the 79^th minute.
 
Offensively, Howard is led by junior Nadia Bolden (Charlotte, N.C.), who has recorded three goals this season. Senior Asia Mickens-Perez (Upper Marlboro, Md.) follows with two goals while Curry, Green and Desert have each contributed to the team's overall scoring effects.
 
WAGNER
 
Wagner enters Sunday's contest with a 2-5-2 overall record (1-0 NEC). The Seahawks are coming off a 2-1 victory over Central Connecticut State (Sept.20) to open conference play.
 
Abigail Marcello has been a key part of the Seahawks defense, recording 42 saves. Wagner has also recorded two shutouts this season.
 
Sunday's matchup will mark Wagner's second consecutive NEC home contest after opening conference play with its win over CCSU (Central Connecticut State).
 
LAST TIMEOUT
 
On Sept. 20, the Bison came out with a big road win at New Haven (UNH), 2-1.
 
Howard and UNH finished with 11 shots a piece while Bison goalie Trinity Knox (Atlanta) made seven saves in the victory.
 
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
 
Following Sunday's matchup at Wagner, Howard returns home Thursday (Oct. 1) to host Central Connecticut State at Greene Stadium. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m.
