NORFOLK, Va. (May 12, 2020) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) unveiled its 2020 Tennis All-Academic Team where seven Bison were recognized for their achievements off the court. The announcement came Tuesday afternoon.
 
Among those honorees recognized include Kendall Addison (Charlotte, N.C.), Dominique Jackson (Washington), Yassmine Khiri (Marrakesh, Morocco), Roger Lyn (Kingston, Jamaica), Kyle Martin (Kingston, Jamaica), Aria Ragas (Johns Creek, Ga.) and Sagar Raju (South Pasadena, Calif.).
 
"I want to congratulate our men's and women's tennis student-athletes, who maintained a 3.0 or better grade point average during the 2019-20 academic year," MEAC Commissioner Dennis E. Thomas said. "The ultimate goal is to develop and graduate our student-athletes to be productive citizens in our society."
 
The league honored 78 student-athletes from its 11 institutions who have achieved academic success during the 2019-20 academic year.
 
MEAC sophomore, junior and senior student-athletes with a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average (GPA), as well as transfer student-athletes who have been in residence at the institution for at least one year, are eligible for All-Academic accolades.
 
With the 2020 season cut short due to the coronavirus (COVID-19), Howard looks ahead towards the 2021 campaign.
