WASHINGTON (February 17, 2018) – Junior
Karim Shokeir and sophomore
Sagar Raju won their respective doubles match, but Mount St. Mary's blanked Howard University Men's Tennis team, 7-0, at the Washington Tennis & Education Foundation's East Capitol Campus.
Skoeir and Raju defeated The Mount's Brandon Wortkotter and Jackson Wood, 7-6(5).
Mount St. Mary's won the next two doubles match and earned the first point.
In singles competition, several matches were competitive. Newcomer
Kyle Martin served as the squad's No. 5 player where he pushed The Mount's Gabriel Santos to the limit despite losing in straight sets (5-7, 6-7).
Tomorrow (Feb. 18), Coach
Larry Strickland and the Bison travel to Norfolk, Va., for a date with Old Dominion. First-serve at 2 p.m.
