Larry Strickland and the Howard University Men's Tennis team seek its first win of the season as they take on Mount St. Mary's (Feb. 17) and Old Dominion (Feb. 18). Saturday's home match starts at noon while Sunday's away contest begins 1 p.m.

HOWARD
HU enters their 34
th season under Strickland, an 11-time Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Coach of the Year Award winner, where he has coached over 70 ITA Scholar All-Americans during his tenure. Strickland and the Bison are winless to start the young season (0-4). Before the year, Howard was projected to finish fourth in the conference's northern division after scoring 51 points with two first-place votes.
MOUNT ST. MARY'S
Like the Bison, Mount St. Mary's (0-4) is searching for their first win of the year. Saturday (Feb. 10), The Mount fell to Navy twice. Navy topped The Mount 6-1 in the first match and 7-0 in the second match. Brandon Wortkotter leads the squad in singles victories (11), followed by Parth Sharma (9) and Jackson Wood (8).
OLD DOMINION
Before hosting Howard, the Monarchs (5-3) continue its five-match home stretch with North Carolina State (Feb. 16) and Richmond (Feb. 18). Last week, No. 76 nationally ranked Aziz Kijametovic picked up his second C-USA Athlete of the Week Award. Kijametovic is the only player to have won the award twice already this season.
LAST TIMEOUT
Last Friday (Feb. 9), the Bison squared off against No. 25 South Carolina in a neutral site match. HU battled, but the Gamecocks blanked Howard, 7-0, in Williamsburg, Va.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
HU will have nearly two weeks until their next match in Richmond, Va., where the Richmond Spiders await. First-serve is scheduled for 3 p.m.
