Men's Soccer Takes On Liberty In Home Opener

WASHINGTON, DC --- The Howard men's soccer team (0-5) will look to break into the win column when the Bison face the Liberty University Flames (2-3) in HU's home opener Tuesday afternoon.

FAST FIVE FACTS - HOWARD (0-5) VS LIBERTY (2-3) / 4 P.M. / GREENE STADIUM
-    Howard opened the season with five straight road and neutral site games, with all but one taking place in the greater DC-Maryland-Virginia area.
-    A victory against Liberty would be the Bison's first in a home opener since defeating Marist College 3-1 on September 20, 2009.
-    The Bison have scored three goals so far this season - two by sophomore forward Kyle Celestine (in the team's first two games) and one by sophomore forward/midfielder Nigel Grant.
-    Defeating LU would also clinch another important first: second year Head Coach Phillip Gyau's first home win as Howard coach.
-    Liberty comes to DC having won its last contest, a 3-0 shutout of VMI on September 12.

NEXT UP
Howard will travel to New York to take on LIU Brooklyn on Friday, September 18 at 6 p.m.
