Four Bison Named to the GCAA Cobalt All-America Scholars

NORMAN, Okla. (August 3, 2026) – The GCAA (Golf Coaches Association of America) and Cobalt Golf revealed its 2025-26 NCAA Division I All-America Scholars where Howard University saw four Bison recognized for their achievements off the green. The announcement came Monday afternoon.
 
To be eligible, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III and NAIA or receiving their associate degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50-percent of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I and maintain a minimum 3.2 cumulative career grade-point average. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
 
This year's recipients included Marlon Jones (Berkeley, Calif.), Francisco Perez (Los Mochi, Mexico), Mathis Perroni (Metz, France) and Michael Perusse (Pearland, Texas).
 
Collectively, more than 600 NCAA Division I student-athletes from over 200 institutions earned GCAA Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honors.
 
Howard Director of Golf Sam Puryear and the Bison look to four-repeat as NEC Champions in spring 2027 and return back to the NCAA postseason.
