NORMAN, Okla. (August 5, 2026) – The Golf Coaches of America (GCAA) and PLATFORM Golf revealed its 2025-26 Team Academic Award recipients where the Howard University men's golf team made the All-Academic Team. The announcement came Wednesday afternoon.
To achieve this honor, the Bison accumulated a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) or higher during the 2025-26 academic year.
"I am super proud of these guys," said Howard Director of Golf
Sam Puryear. "They have continued to excel both in the classroom and on the golf course."
The nine-man roster included
Kezaia Dimosi (London, England),
Mitchell Grey (Mississauga, Canada),
Bear Huff (Riverside, Calif.),
Marlon Jones (Berkeley, Calif.),
Ander Martinez (Alvarado, Veracruz Mexico),
Francisco Perez (Los Mochis, Mexico),
Mathis Perroni (Metz, France),
Michael Perusse (Pearland, Texas) and
John Thompson (Columbia, S.C.).
Overall, a GCAA-record 313 schools across six divisions earned a PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award. Among those recipients, 155 schools received Presidents Special Recognition for having a 3.5 team GPA average or above during the 2025-26 campaign.
Maryland Eastern Shore (NCAA Division I & HBCU), Virginia State (NCAA Division II), Bowdoin (NCAA Division III), Texas A&M-San Antonio (NAIA), Iowa Western (NJCAA Division I) and Kirkwood (NJCAA Division II) were all named 2025-26 GCAA Academic National Champions for finishing with the top GPA in their respective divisions.
