NAPA, Calif. (March 24, 2026) – Howard University men's golf team took part in the Bridgestone Collegiate Invitational, hosted by Central Michigan. The two-day (March 23-24), 54-hole event was held at the Silverado Country Club & Resort (par-72, 6,859 yards) in Napa, Calif.
Howard played well during the event despite a 12-place finish. Collectively, the Bison shot 2-over par (866) in three rounds of action.
Junior
Francisco Perez led the charge, firing 3-under par (213) while tying for 23
rd overall.
Fellow classmates
Bear Huff (Riverside, Calif.) and
Mathis Perroni (Metz, France) tied for 46
th on the player leaderboard after recording 3-over par (219).
No. 27 BYU won the 2026 Bridgestone Collegiate Invitational, shooting an impressive 54-under par (810). No. 47 Kihei Akina and Peter Kim led the Cougars, finishing first (195, -21) and second (200, -16), respectively.
Santa Clara earned runner-up after finishing 25 strokes behind BYU.
HU stays on the West Coast, competing in The Godwin (March 26-28), hosted by Stanford.
