NORFOLK, Va. (February 9, 2026) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) uncovered its men's basketball weekly awards where Howard University saw a pair of Bison acknowledged for their outstanding efforts. The announcement came Monday afternoon.
Junior guard
Cedric Taylor III (Atlanta) was named MEAC Player of the Week while graduate guard
Bryce Harris (Brentwood, N.Y.) claimed the league's Co-Defensive Player of the Week.
Taylor averaged 22.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game in back-to-back wins over Coppin State (Feb. 2) and South Carolina State (Feb. 7).
For Harris, he anchored the defense with 11 rebounds, five steals and three blocks while contributing 37 points and five assists in the two victories.
Morgan State's Marland Harris shared MEAC Co-Defensive Player of the Week with Harris while Coppin State guard Daveyon Lydner earned Rookie of the Week.
Saturday (Feb. 14), HU meets Maryland Eastern Shore in a conference showdown inside The Burr. Tipoff is slated for 4:30 p.m.
