Men’s Hoops Wraps Up Nonconference Play Versus Yale

Bison battle Ivy League power inside The Burr

WASHINGTON (February 8, 2026) – Howard University men's basketball team will be looking to extend its current win streak when it faces Ivy League power Yale Monday (Feb. 9) at 7 p.m., inside Burr Gymnasium.
 
The Bulldogs are 17-4 overall and have won four-of-the-last-five contests. The Bison are 15-9 overall.

COACHES
 
Yale is coached by James Jones (Albany, '86), who is in his 27th season at the helm and is the winningest coach in school history. Howard is led by Kenneth Blakeney (Duke, '95), who is in his seventh season.
 
THE SERIES
 
Yale defeated the Bison, 93-65, last year in New Haven, holding a 4-0 record versus Howard. It must be noted that Yale outlasted Howard, 86-78, in overtime (January 3, 2024).

Yale (17-4) recovered from a 36-31 halftime deficit to defeated Brown, 81-69, in an Ivy League contest Friday (Feb. 6). The Bulldogs were led by Riley Fox, who came off the bench to score a team-high 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting, including 4-of-6 from downtown.
 
HOWARD
 
Saturday (Feb. 7), junior guard Cedric Taylor III (Atlanta) scored a game-high 24 points and graduate guard Bryce Harris (Brentwood, N.Y.) collected 23 points to lead the Bison to an 85-57 win over South Carolina State at Burr Gymnasium.
