TUCSON, Ariz. (January 27, 2026) – Howard University men's golf team took 13
th overall at the N.I.T., hosted by No. 30 Arizona. The two-day (Jan. 26-27), 54-hole event was held at Omni Tucson National Resort (pa-72, 7,200 yards) in Tucson, Ariz.
Collectively, HU shot 12-over par (876).
Junior
Bear Huff (Riverside, Calif.) and sophomore
Michael Perusse (Pearland, Texas) led the Bison, each shooting 2-over par (218) in 54 holes of action. Both golfers tied for 47
th on the player leaderboard.
Junior
Marlon Jones fired six-over par (222), tying for 57
th place, followed by fellow classmate
Francisco Perez (223, +7), which tied for 61
st overall.
Rookie
Ander Martinez (Alvarado, Veracruz Mexico) rounded out the Bison, registering a 225 (+9) while tying for 68
th place.
No. 5 Texas won the 2026 N.I.T. (823, -41), edging out Arizona by one stroke (824, -40).
No. 42 Filip Jakubcik (Arizona) won the individual medal (202, -14), holding off No. 21 Luke Potter (204, -12).
On March 2-3, HU goes to the Lone Star State for the Colin Montgomerie Invitational, hosted by Houston Christian.
