JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (May 29, 2025) – Howard University graduate
Noah Langford (Virginia Beach, Va.) moved on to the NCAA East Regional Quarterfinal Round after Day One in Jacksonville, posting a new personal best in the 400-meter hurdles.
After more than a four-hour weather delay, the Virginia native ran an automatic qualifying time of 49.94, which was the second-fastest mark in round one.
Tennessee's Jevon Williams held the best time at 49.80.
Friday's (May 30) quarterfinal round is slated for 7:25 p.m.
Langford also competed in the short hurdles (110-meter) but fell just short of advancing.
Louisiana Tech's Oscar Smith held the top spot at 13.52.
In the field events, seniors
Kyle Fisher (Duluth, Ga.) and
Sean Wray (Stafford, Va.) competed in the long jump, but came up shot of punching their tickets to Eugene.
Friday, Fisher and fellow classmate
Chase Drewery (Waldorf, Md.) gear up for the triple jump at 2:30 p.m.
