NORFOLK, Va. (May 16, 2026) – Howard University men's track & field team tied for fourth place at the MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Outdoor Championships in Norfolk, Va.
Collectively, HU tallied 113 points, along with North Carolina Central.
Freshman
Jabari Dillard (Cross Hill, S.C.), sophomore
Drew Dillard (Silver Spring, Md.) and senior
Jorim Bangue (Yaoundé, Cameroon) highlighted the afternoon, sweeping the 110-meter hurdles final round. The Bison trio won gold, silver and bronze in times of 14.09, 14.16 and 14.34, respectively.
Rookie
Ashton Thomas (Greensboro, N.C.) and fifth-year Bison
Kaleb Berry (Duncanville, Texas) competed in the 800-meter run where they placed third (1:51.51) and eighth (2:35.58), respectively.
Graduate sprinter
Abraham Evans (Virginia Beach, Va.) return home to the Tidewater area, grabbing a pair of fourth-place finishes in the 100-meter dash (10.33) and 200-meter dash (21.23).
Other notable performance on the track included sophomore
Elijah Grant (Fort Mill, S.C.) taking sixth overall in the 400-meter dash, clocking in at 47.44.
In the field, fifth-year Bison
Sean Wray (Stafford, Va.) and freshman
Roman Mills (Washington) earned second (15.44 meters) and third (14.86 meters), respectively, in the triple jump.
Other noteworthy performance in the field included rookie
Maltius Morrissey (Tampa, Fla.) claiming fourth in the pole vault after catapulting 4.46 meters (14'7.5").
Norfolk State won the MEAC Outdoor Championship for the fifth consecutive year with 183 points, followed by South Carolina State (126 points) and Delaware State (115 points).
On May 27-30, several Bison travel to Lexington, Ky., for the NCAA East Preliminary Rounds.
