WASHINGTON (May 27, 2025) – Howard University track & field program sends a program-best 24 Bison to Jacksonville, Fla., to compete in the 2025 NCAA East Preliminary Round. The four-day event (May 28-31) is hosted by the University of North Florida.

MEET PREVIEW
Thursday (May 22), the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) unveiled its Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships First Round Preliminaries where HU sends a program-best 24 Bison across 17 events, surpassing last year's benchmark of 21 participants across 12 events.
MEN
Wednesday (May 28), seniors
Kyle Fisher (Duluth, Ga.) and
Sean Wray (Stafford, Va.) open with long jump at 4:30 p.m.
Graduate
Noah Langford (Virginia Beach, Va.) wraps up Day One, competing in three track events: 110-meter hurdles (6 p.m.); 400-meter dash (7:25 p.m.) and 400-meter hurdles (8:20 p.m.).
Friday (May 30), the trio of Fisher, Wray and senior
Chase Drewery (Waldorf, Md.) gear up for the triple jump at 2:30 p.m.
The 4x400 relay squad of Langford, sophomore
Emerson McKindra (Linden, N.J.) and freshmen
Cameron Brazell (Houston) and
Elijah Grant (Fort Mill, S.C.) closes out the night at 8:45 p.m. Third-year Bison
Dylan Gaines (Houston) will fill in as a reserve, if needed.
WOMEN
Thursday (May 29), graduate
Erin Hatcher (Silver Spring, Md.) kicks off with the hammer throw at 10 a.m.
Later that evening, fellow classmate
Nneka Ezeama (Smithfield, R.I.) is set to compete in the shot put at 6 p.m.
On the track, graduates

Lindsay Johnson (Detroit) represent Bison Nation in the short hurdles (100-meter) at 6 p.m.

Zoe Turner (Mableton, Ga.) gear up for the 400-meter dash at 7:25 p.m.
At 7:50 p.m., senior
Camille Egbula (Simpsonville, S.C.) competes in the 800-meter race.
Four Bison enter the long hurdles (400-meter) at 8:20 p.m.: Johnson; Smith; Woodruff and freshman
Cenaiya Billups (Denver).
HU closes out Thursday with five Bison taking part in the 200-meter dash at 8:45 p.m.: Collins; Gray-Williams; Lawson; Pittman and Woodruff.
Wajd and junior
Kelis Armstrong (Plano, Texas) start Friday (May 31) with the triple jump at 2:30 p.m.
On the track at 5 p.m., Collins, Gray-Williams, Pittman and Sey compete in the 4x100 relay with Lawson and Robinson ready to fill-in, if needed.
The 4x400 relay team of Johnson, Lawson, Smith and Woodruff finishes the weekend at 8:45 p.m. Billups and Turner are reserves, if needed.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
Qualifiers from the meet will advance to the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which will be held June 11-14 in Eugene, Ore.
