NORFOLK, Va. (May 15, 2025) – Howard University men's track & field program scored points on Day One of the MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Outdoor Championships, held at Dick Price Stadium in Norfolk, Va., hosted by Norfolk State University (NSU).
Newcomer
Solomon Young (Charlotte, N.C.) led the way, scoring two points in the discus. The Tar Heel native finished seventh overall, tossing 44.98 meters (147'7").
Senior
Eric Brown II (Raleigh, N.C.) produced a half point in the high jump, tying for eighth place (1.95 meters).
On the track, graduate
Noah Langford (Virginia Beach, Va.) advanced to Saturday's 400-meter hurdles final after running the fastest AQ time of 50.30. The final round is scheduled for 3:05 p.m.
Fellow classmate
Goba Dan-Princewill (Houston) made the 200-meter final, posting the fastest non-automatic qualifying mark of 21.35. Saturday's race is set for 3:20 p.m.
After three scored events, HU is seventh in the team standings. NSU leads the pack with 44 points, followed by Delaware State (20 points).
Fifth-year Bison
Ezekiel Hawkins (Lithonia, Ga.) and senior
Amon-Ra Watkins (Bronx, N.Y.) start Friday (May 16) with the men's decathlon, beginning at 9 a.m., to finish up their race.
Field events begin at 11:30 a.m., and running events to start at 2:50 p.m.
