Butcher Named to the CSC Tennis Academic All-District Team

Bison standout acknowledged for her hard work off the court

GREENWOOD, Ind. (May 13, 2025) – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Committee revealed its 2025 Women's Tennis All-District Team where Howard University Sifa Butcher (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) was acknowledged for her hard work off the court. The announcement came Tuesday.

Butcher wrapped up her illustrious career with 34 singles victories, including a 12-5 mark during the 2023 campaign. She earned All-MEAC First Team honors twice (2022 & 2023) while leading the squad to a MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Regular Season title in her freshman year (2022). The international business graduate finished with a 3.69 grade-point-average (GPA).

The 2025 Academic Tennis teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot.

Howard Director of Tennis Nicholas Askew and Associate Head Coach Zach Tobias look to reload for the upcoming 2026 campaign in the program's pursuit for another MEAC title.
