WASHINGTON (April 23, 2025) – Howard University tennis program gears up for the MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Tournament, looking to bring home a pair of titles back to The District.
The men come into the tournament as the fifth seed while the women enter as the third seed and both play Morgan State (MSU) in the first round.
MATCHUP PREVIEWS
HOWARD WOMEN
The No. 3 Lady Bison will face No. 6 Morgan State after beating the Lady Bears in a 5-2 regular season matchup (April 16). Senior
Jordan Grayson (Gaithersburg, Md.) will look to replicate her performances last week in winning both singles and doubles matches.
MORGAN STATE WOMEN
The MSU women come into the tournament after a 5-17 season, landing them in the sixth seed. They will look to turn their season around against a confident Bison team.
HOWARD MEN
The men earned the fifth seed and will be facing fourth seeded Morgan State. Despite a tightly contested doubles win from senior
Marcel Dawson (Columbus, Ga.) and sophomore
Michael Major Jr. (Nassau, Bahamas), the Bison fell to the Bears in their regular season matchup last week (April 16).
MORGAN MEN
The Morgan men are seeded fourth coming into the tournament after a 7-14 season. Before losing to Hofstra (April 19) in their last regular season game, the Bears were on a four-match winning streak, including a 5-2 win over the Bison (April 16).

The women swept Coppin State, 7-0, led by a shutout 6-0 doubles victory from sophomores
Dana Hall (Miami) and
Lauren Oliver (Winston-Salem, N.C.).
HOWARD MEN
The men also swept their Coppin State opponents on senior day. Freshman
Kaosie Nwokedi (Charlotte, N.C.) and senior
Daniel Dunac (Washington, D.C) took home the biggest win of the day with a 6-1 doubles victory.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
With a men's victory, the Bison face top-seeded South Carolina State Friday (April 25) at noon.
With a women's win, HU awaits the winner between No. 2 North Carolina Central and No. 7 Coppin State. Match time is set for 9 a.m.
