NORFOLK, Va. (April 2, 2025) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) uncovered its men's and women's track & field weekly honors where Howard University saw graduate thrower
Erin Hatcher (Silver Spring, Md.) take home the league's Women's Field Athlete of the Week. The announcement came Wednesday afternoon.
Hatcher finished ninth overall in the hammer throw at the Texas Relays, shattering the MEAC and school benchmarks with a mark of 59.71 meters (195'11"), which ranks 39
th in the country.
Fellow classmate
Marcia Sey (London, United Kingdom) received honorable mention after winning the Texas Relays' 100-meter hurdles, clocking in at a MEAC-best 12.76, which sits second in the nation.
Maryland Eastern Shore's Alyssa Dyett was named MEAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week.
On the men's side, graduate sprinter
Goba Dan-Princewill (Houston) and DMV native senior jumper
Chase Drewery (Waldorf, Md.) each earned honorable mention after their performances at Texas Relays.
Coppin State senior Carl Drakes was named MEAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week while Delaware State freshman Ja'mari Manson claimed Men's Field Athlete of the Week.
The program is set to host the Bison Classic in D.C., along with Gallaudet University, Saturday (April 5). The action starts at 9:30 a.m.
