NORFOLK, Va. (April 22, 2026) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) uncovered its women's track & field weekly awards where Howard University junior sprinter
Yahnari Lyons (Hampton, Ga.) claimed the league's Track Athlete of the Week. The announcement came Wednesday morning.
At the Tom Jones Memorial (April 17-18), Lyons grabbed gold in the 200-meter dash with a MEAC-best time of 22.34, ranking second nationally.
Senior
Kelis Armstrong (Plano, Texas) received honorable mention after finishing fourth in the triple jump with a conference-best mark of 12.75 meters.
Morgan State senior Brylan Carter earned MEAC Field Athlete of the Week.
On April 23-25, HU goes to the City of Brotherly Love for the prestigious Penn Relays.
