BALTIMORE & GAINESVILLE, Fla. (April 19, 2025) – Howard University men's track & field program wrapped up the holiday weekend at the annual Morgan Legacy (April 18-19), hosted by the Morgan State Bears, and Tom Jones Invitational (April 18-19), hosted by the Florida Gators.
MORGAN LEGACY
In the field, junior
Andre Prince (Windsor, Conn.) and newcomer
Tarike Lavine (Bridgetown, Barbados) finished second (50.28 meters) and eighth (37.52 meters), respectively, in the hammer throw. The Barbados native also took part in the discus, earning fifth overall (42.67 meters).
Rookie
Solomon Young (Charlotte, N.C.) grabbed fifth in the shot put, tossing 13.83 meters (45'4.5").
On the track, fifth-year Bison
Ezekiel Hawkins (Lithonia, Ga.) and senior
Amon-Ra Watkins (Bronx, N.Y.) represented HU in the short hurdles (110-meter) where they placed third (14.58) and eighth (15.05), respectively.
Other notable performances on the track included sophomore
Jordan Good (Burlington, N.C.) taking seventh (48.59) in the 400-meter dash and freshman
William Shepherd (Plano, Texas) earning seventh (4:06.09) in the 1500-meter run.

On the track, graduates
Goba Dan-Princewill (Houston) and
Abraham Evans (Virginia Beach, Va.) led the way, taking second (10.30) and sixth (10.34), respectively, in the 100-meter dash. The Houston native also competed in the 200-meter dash, taking fourth overall (21.00).
In the field, senior
Kyle Fisher (Duluth, Ga.) placed third overall in the long jump (7.53 meters). The Georgia product also found success in the triple jump, landing seventh (14.54 meters).
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
HU continues the outdoor season journey back up north to the prestigious Penn Relays, hosted by the Quakers (April 24-27).
