LOUISVILLE, Ky. (March 8, 2025) – Howard University men's track & field team crushed the competition at the inaugural HBCU Indoor Championships in Louisville, Ky., hosted by Kentucky State University.
Overall, the Bison had 10 first-place finishes.
On the track, graduate sprinter
Goba Dan-Princewill (Houston) won a pair of races in the 60-meter dash (6.81) and 200-meter dash (21.27).
Sophomore
Emerson McKindra (Linden, N.J.), graduate
Noah Langford (Virginia Beach, Va.) and rookie
Elijah Grant (Fort Mill, S.C.) swept the podium with first (47.37), second (47.74) and third (47.84) place finishes, respectively, in the 400-meter dash.
Second-year Bison
Jordan Good (Burlington, N.C.), senior
Kaleb Berry (Duncanville, Texas) and junior
Kobe Hutson (Bridgetown, Barbados) claimed the top three spots in the 800-meter run, clocking in at 1:59.22 (first), 1:59.42 (second) and 2:01.23 (third), respectively.
Grant, Lanford, McKindra and newcomer
Cameron Brazell (Houston) closed out the meet with a victory in the 4x400 relay, producing a 3:15.44 mark.
In the field, junior
Andre Prince (Windsor, Conn.) took home gold in the shot put (13.08 meters) and weight throw (15.72 meters). Freshman thrower
Solomon Young (Charlotte, N.C.) also competed in those events, finishing runner-up in both to Prince.
Senior
Kyle Fisher (Duluth, Ga.) won the long jump (7.09 meters) while fellow classmate
Chase Drewery (Waldorf, Md.) was victorious in the triple jump (15.04 meters).
HU shifts its focus to the outdoor season with the first meet in Tampa, Fla., at the annual USF Alumni Invitational (March 21-22), hosted by the Bulls.
