STANFORD, Calif. (March 29, 2025) – Howard University men's golf team wrapped up its west coast at The Goodwin, hosted by Stanford University. The three-day (March 27-29), 54-hole tourney took place at Stanford Golf Course (par-70, 6,724 yards) in Stanford, Calif.
Collectively, HU shot 48-over par (888).
Fifth-year Bison
Marcus Smith Jr. (Rockford, Ill.) led the way, shoot 11-over par (221) throughout the tournament.
Sophomore
Mitchell Grey (Mississauga, Canada) fired one stroke behind Smith (222, +12), followed by sophomore transfer
Mathis Perroni (Metz, France) at 13-over par (223).
No. 15 UCLA won The Goodwin, registering 11-under par (829). No. 32 Colorado finished nine strokes behind the Bruins (838, -2).
Individually, five golfers tied for first place after recording 5-under par (205) in 54 holes of action: Peter Kim (BYU); JP Odland (Santa Clara); No. 48 Gabriel Palacios (Utah); No. 81 Daniel Svard (Northwestern) and Freddie Turnell (Little Rock).
Howard takes a short break before traveling to Kannapolis, N.C., for the Irish Creek Collegiate (April 7-8), hosted by Appalachian State.
