Odom Qualifies for the 2026 PGA TOUR Americas Season

Former Bison standout receives full status on the tour

SUGAR LAND, Texas (March 27, 2026) – Former Howard University standout Gregory Odom Jr., (Memphis, Tenn.) earned a spot on the 2026 PGA Tour Americas after tying for fifth overall at the Americas Q-School in Sugar Land, Texas. The four-day (March 24-27) tourney took place at the TPC Houst-Pecan Course (par-72, 7,050 yards).

The Memphis native shot 16-under par (272) after four rounds of action, including 8-under par (64) on the final day. The All-NEC selection fired an Eagle on hole 16 that secured his spot on this year's tour.

"This is huge," said Howard Director of Golf Sam Puryear. "I honestly cannot explain how big this is for him. Congrats to Greg on this huge achievement."

Chris Nido won the 2026 Americas Q-School in Texas, posting a 266 (-22) while joining Odom on the tour.

Fellow Bison Everett Whiten Jr. (Chesapeake, Va.) received conditional status after shooting a 30 (-6) on his final nine holes, just missing full status.

During the 2023-24 collegiate season, both Bison ranked among the top golfers, based on their World Amateur Golf Ranking Points Average. Odom and Whiten finished second and fourth, respectively, in the APGA Collegiate Ranking.

In their final season, both Bison earned All-NEC First Team honors while leading the program to its first Northeast Conference (NEC) title and berth to the NCAA Tournament.
