NORFOLK, Va. (March 27, 2025) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) revealed its tennis weekly accolades where Howard University freshman standout
Kaosie Nwokedi (Charlotte, N.C.) claimed a pair of accolades. The announcement came Wednesday (March 26).
The Tar Heel native won MEAC Player & Rookie of the Week for his outstanding performances versus Wagner (March 22) and Longwood (March 23), winning both singles matches in straight sets. In doubles play, Nwokedi and senior
Daniel Dunac (Washington) won their contest with an easy 6-1 decision.
This season, Nwokedi has a 7-4 singles record, including 6-2 in the No. 2 position.
On the women's side, senior
Nadia Pegram (Naples, Fla.) received honorable mention after winning both, singles and doubles matches, against the Seahawks.
Delaware State junior Lucia Casas Blas was named the MEAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week while Norfolk State freshman Yuliya Yurkova took home Women's Rookie of the Week.
On March 28-30, Howard gears up for the annual MEAC Round Up, held in the DMV.
