URBANA, Md. (March 23, 2025) – Howard University men's golf team finished runner-up at the Carpetbagger Classic, hosted by Binghamton, in Urbana Md. The two-day (March 22-23), 36-hole event took place at the Worthington Manor Golf Club (par-72, 7,034 yards).
Collectively, Howard shot 17-over par (593) with a pair of Bison placing in the top 10.
Graduate
Joshua Siplin (Orlando, Fla.) led the way, shooting 1-over par (145) while earning fourth place.
Rookie
Caden Cannon made his Bison debut, firing 3-over par (147) and tying for seventh overall in the player leaderboard.
Second-year Bison
Bear Huff (Riverside, Calif.) registered a 148 (+4), tying for 12
th place.
Junior
Hugo Garcia (Dubai, UAE) shot 9-over par (153), tying for 38
th overall.
Mount St. Mary's (MSM) won the 2025 Carpetbagger Classic, recording 8-over par (584) during the two-day event. No. 32 Gettysburg College tied with the Bison for second place.
Individually, MSM Aaron Sorkin won the medal with a 2-under par (142) performance, finishing one stroke better than teammate Devin Smith (143, -1).
HU goes West for the Bridgestone Collegiate Classic (March 24-25), hosted by Central Michigan.
