NORFOLK, Va. (February 5, 2025) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) unveiled its men's tennis weekly awards where Howard University saw newcomer Kaosie Nwokedi win the league's Rookie of the Week accolade. The announcement came Wednesday.
 
On Jan. 31, Nwokedi earned his first collegiate singles victory with a straight set win over Loyola's (Md.) Ryan Boland (6-3, 6-4). He led HU to a 5-2 match win over the Greyhounds in D.C.
 
North Carolina Central senior Hugo Hidalgo Vega was named MEAC Player of the Week.
 
Friday (Feb. 7), both teams host Temple at the WTEF (Washington Tennis & Education Foundation's) East Capitol Campus. First-serve at 12:30 p.m.
