VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (February 24, 2025) – Howard University men's track and field earned their fourth consecutive Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) men's Indoor Track & Field runner-up trophy Monday evening at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.
Andre Prince (Windsor, Conn.) started the day off for the Bison, placing second in the weight throw with a distance of 16.90 meters.
To kick off the running events, junior hurdler
Jorim Bangue (Yaoundé, Cameroon) followed up with his silver medal finish in the 60-meter hurdles (7.94) - earning his first medal as a Bison.
Goba Dan-Princewill (Houston) earned his runner-up medal in the 60-meter finals (6.72), missing gold by just 0.02 seconds. The feat marked a new 2025 NCAA College indoor ranking for the Texas native.
Back in the sand pit, seniors
Chase Drewery (Waldorf, Md.) and
Kyle Fisher (Duluth, Ga.) earn silver (15.13 meters) and bronze (14.57 meters) medals, respectively.
In one of the more eventful races of the day, junior
Kobe Hutson (Bridgetown, Barbados) picked up eight points for the Bison with his second-place finish in the 800-meter finals (1:53.26).
Howard's 4x400 relay team consisting of
Cameron Brazell (Houston),
Noah Langford (Virginia Beach, Va.),
Emerson McKindra (Linden, N.J.) and
Elijah Grant (Fort Mill, S.C.) broke the conference meet record (3:09.04) running the event in 3:08.88 seconds – only 0.22 seconds behind MEAC champion Norfolk State.
In total, the Bison finished the championship meet with 106 points.
Next, the Bison will compete in the HBCU Indoor Championships held in Louisville, Ky. (March 7-8).
