NORFOLK, Va. (February 20, 2025) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) unveiled its men's and women's tennis weekly honors where Howard University saw a pair of Bison acknowledged for their outstanding performances. The announcement came Thursday morning.

Sifa Butcher (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) won MEAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week while newcomer
Kaosie Nwokedi (Charlotte, N.C.) took home the league's Men's Tennis Player and Rookie of the Week.
Butcher went a perfect 2-0 in singles play versus Villanova (Feb. 14) and UDC (Feb. 15), winning both contests in straight sets.
For Nwokedi, he won both singles and doubles matches against the Firebirds.
The women's team plays back-to-back matches against Mount St. Mary's (Feb. 21) and Longwood (Feb. 22), respectively.
The men's squad plays Mount St. Mary's Friday (Feb. 21) before an eight-day break between matches.
