WASHINGTON (October 31, 2025) – Howard University men's and women's cross-country teams will be competing at the 2025 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Championships in Cary, N.C.
The championship races will take place at WakeMed Soccer Park (201 Soccer Park Dr, Cary, NC 27511), starting with the Women's 5K race at 11 a.m., followed by the Men's 8K race at noon.

The 2025 MEAC Cross Country Championships are FREE and open to the public.

This year's teams competing will include Howard, Coppin State University, Delaware State University, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Morgan State University, Norfolk State University, North Carolina Central University and South Carolina State University.
The top 15 runners from each race will earn All-MEAC team accolades.
WOMEN
The women's team finished second behind Norfolk State (NSU) in last year's MEAC Championships.
Alumna
Joslyn Crosby (Bossier City, La.) posted a 17:15.10 time, winning the MEAC Cross Country Individual title.
Sophomore
Mira Martin (Columbus, Ohio) placed fourth in her rookie season (18:12.20).
Both Bison, including two other teammates, were named to the All-MEAC Team after placing in the top 15.
MEN
The men's team finished in fourth place with four runners placing in the top half.
In his first season as a Bison, sophomore
William Shepherd (Plano, Texas) earned All-MEAC recognition for his performance, clocking 26:18.30, while taking 14
th overall.
Classmate
Paul Robinson (Bowie, Md.) came in 16
th place (26:39.20).
LAST TIMEOUT
On Oct. 18, both squads competed at the Bison Invite, hosted by HU, and took first place.
The men finished first overall with four runners finishing in the top 15. Shepherd led the way, earning silver with a 15:51.30 mark.
On the women's side, they won the race with six Bison earning top 15 finishes. Rookie
Alexis Jones (New Windsor, N.Y.) won the 5K race, clocking in at 18:34.90.
