MONTERREY, Mexico (October 25, 2025) – Howard University men's golf team concluded its fall schedule at the Monterrey Collegiate Classic, hosted by George Washington University, where they grabbed sixth overall. The two-day (Oct. 24-25), 54-hole event took place at the Club Campestre Monterrey (par-72, 7,258 yards).
Collectively, the Bison shot 1-under par (863) with three golfers finishing in the top half.
Newcomer
Ander Martinez (Alvarado, Mexico) led the way, firing 5-under par (211) while tying for 10
th place.
Junior
Francisco Perez tied for 17
th overall after shooting 2-under par (214).
Fellow classmate
Marlon Jones finished one stroke behind Perez (215, -1), tying for 19
th on the player leaderboard.
Juniors
Bear Huff (Riverside, Calif.) and
Mathis Perroni (Metz, France) tied for 39
th place, recording 5-over par (221).
VCU won the 2025 Monterrey Collegiate Classic with an impressive 30-under par (834) collective effort. Carson Looney led the Rams, winning the individual medal with a 10-under par (206) performance.
HU wraps up the fall slate and begins the spring schedule in January.
