WASHINGTON (January 16, 2025) – Howard University women's bowling team returns to action after a two-month hiatus for the Northeast Classic, hosted by No. 11 Sacred Heart. The three-day, 38-team field takes place in Bowlerama in New Castle, Del.
LAST TIMEOUT
On Nov. 16-17, HU competed in Gwynn Oak, Md, at the Coppin State Lady Eagles Invitational where the Lady Bison finished fifth overall.
Junior
Sydney Allison (Ypsilanti, Mich.) led the team in total pinfalls (963), averaging 192.6 in five traditional matches.
TOURNAMENT PREVIEW
This year's tournament features 22 of the 25 ranked teams in the country and the 38-team field is the largest in NCAA women's bowling history.
Last year's Northeast Classic champion and 2024 NCAA tournament champion Jacksonville State will be defending its title.
The tournament begins Friday (Jan. 17) with five baker matches. The following day (Jan. 18), HU competes in five traditional matches. Sunday (Jan. 19), Howard concludes the weekend three best-of-7 baker matches.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
On Feb. 7-9, HU goes to Mount Joy, Pa., for the annual Mount Shootout, hosted by Mount St. Mary's.
