RALEIGH, N.C. (March 21, 2025) – Howard University women's bowling team saw its title hopes come to an end at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Championship, dropping its opening two matchups to Baltimore rivals No. 3 Morgan State (MSU) and No. 7 Coppin State (CSU) in Raleigh, N.C.
HU began its quest against MSU in the morning. Howard fell behind after coming up short in traditional competition, 895-765, but rebounded in Baker play to force a best-of-seven against the Lady Bears, 856-810. Third-year Bison
Sydney Allison (Ypsilanti, Mich.) and
Cameren Sullivan (Chicago) and sophomore
Simone Ashford (Chicago) spearhead the attack, rolling a 187, 186 and 180, respective, in the victory.
Morgan State swept the Bison in four, 4-0; thus, forcing HU in a win-or-go home scenario versus the Eagles.
CSU eliminated Howard in the nightcap, winning both traditional, 842-792, and Baker, 874-776, matchups. Sullivan, the All-MEAC Third Team selection, produced a 185 traditional play, followed by a 180 performance in Baker competition.
For HU, they return several Bison, including Sullivan, in their pursuit to win its first MEAC Title.
