PHILADELPHIA & LOUISVILLE, Ken. (January 11, 2025) – Howard University men's track & field team competed in a pair of meets over the weekend: Rod McCravy Invitational (Jan. 10-11) and Penn Select (Jan. 11).
ROD MCCRAVY INVITATIONAL
In Louisville, HU had five top 3 finishes.
The 4x400 relay squad of graduate
Noah Langford (Virginia Beach, Va.), sophomore
Emerson McKindra (Linden, N.J.) and newcomers
Cameron Brazell (Houston) and
Elijah Grant (Fort Mills, S.C.) placed third overall, clocking in at 3:12.80.
Individually, Grant and McKindra took second (48.43) and third (48.48), respectively, in the 400-meter run.
Fifth-year Bison
Zachary Hawkins (Lithonia, Ga.) and junior
Jorim Bangue (Yaoundé, Cameroon) made the 60-meter hurdles final, earning silver (7.87) and bronze (7.97), respectively.
In the field, DMV native senior
Chase Drewery (Waldorf, Md.) finished sixth in the triple jump, leaping nearly 50 feet (15.10 meters).
PENN SELECT
Third-year runner
Kobe Hutson (Bridgetown, Barbados) led the charge in Philly, taking third overall in the 400-meter dash (48.70).
Fifth-year senior
Ezekiel Hawkins (Lithonia, Ga.) placed sixth in the short hurdles (8.55).
Off the track, D.C. product
Ashton McCullers catapulted 4.40 meters in the pole vault, finishing fifth place.
Junior
Andre Prince (Windsor, Conn.) earned fifth in the weight throw, tossing 16.92 meters.
