WASHINGTON (September 20, 2024) – Howard University men's golf team travels to nearby Annapolis, Md., for The Goat, hosted by Navy. The two-day, 54-hole event takes place at the Naval Academy Golf Club (par-71, 7,025 yards).
Saturday (Sept. 21), the opening round begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m., with the second round to follow upon conclusion of round one. Sunday's (Sept. 22) final round tee times begin at 8 a.m., from the 1st and 10th tees.

HISTORY
The Naval Academy Golf Club is a private, university golf course owned by the Naval Academy. It is operated by the Naval Academy Golf Association (NAGA), which is affiliated with the Naval Academy Athletic Association (NAAA). The golf course serves as the home course for the Brigade of Midshipmen and all of the faculty and staff at the Naval Academy. Active duty and retired military personnel, as well as civilians also have access to the course.
TOURNAMENT PREVIEW
This is the first time Navy has hosted a fall tournament since 2016 and the first time it has been named The Goat.
The participants competing in this year's event include Howard, Navy, Barry, Binghamton, Bucknell, Cal Baptist, Colgate, Columbia, Georgetown, George Washington, Lafayette, Loyola Maryland, Maryland, Pacific and William & Mary.
LAST TIMEOUT
On Sept. 9-10, Howard hosted the third annual HU-USF Intercollegiate where the Bison finished ninth overall.
Fifth-year senior
Marcus Smith Jr. (Rockford, Ill.) led the Bison, shooting 5-over par (215) in 54 holes while tying for 18
th.

On Oct. 7-8, Howard goes East Hampton, N.Y., for the Hamptons Intercollegiate, hosted by Loyola (Md.).
