WASHINGTON (September 12, 2024) – Howard University men's and women's cross country returns to action Friday (Sept. 13) for the Delaware State Invite, hosted by the Hornets. Both races take place at the Delaware Outreach & Research Center (884 Smyrna Leipsic Road, Smyrna, Del.), home of the 2024 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Cross Country Championships, starting with the women at 3 p.m., followed by the men at 4 p.m.
MEET PREVIEW
HU looks to keep the momentum going after a successful run at the annual Mount 5K Duals.
Senior
Joslyn Crosby (Bossier City, La.) and rookie
Eyob Gill (Arden, N.C.) led the way for Howard, each earning MEAC Runners of the Week, respectively, while guiding their clubs to runner-up finishes.
THE COURSE
The 5K course is a flat terrain on 192-acres of beautiful land dedicated to crop production and research.
LAST TIMEOUT
On Aug. 30, HU opened the 2024 campaign with solid outings, each taking second place at the annual Mount 5K Duals, hosted by Mount St. Mary's.
Overall, 10 Bison made their collegiate debut.
On the women's side, Crosby finished runner-up with a 18:30.47 mark, followed by newcomer
Mira Martin (Columbus, Ohio) with a 19:04.74 time.
For the men, Gill took seventh overall in his collegiate debut (15:41.82) while fellow classmate
Habtamu Epley (Chicago) also placed in the top 10, earning ninth in the standings (15:55.46).
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
On Sept. 28, HU goes to Bethlehem, Pa., for the annual Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh.
