Howard (1-3-3) previous game ended in a 4-0 setback at No. 4 Virginia (UVA). After their three-day rest, the Bison will be coming into this match ready to get back in the win column.
Performances from the Bison's last match, reigning Northeast Conference Goalie of the Year sophomore
Trinity Knox (Atlanta) guarded the net, racking up 11 saves.
The Bison have been picked to finish third in the preseason, led by longtime head coach
Brent Leiba, who is entering his 15
th year.
LANCERS
In their last match against Hampton (Sept. 10), the Lancers started very slow in the first half but utilizing their grit to muster a 3-0 victory.
Players to watch include Peyton Curney (1 goal), Karleigh Minson (1 goal) and Sydney Robertson (1 goal).
Longwood is projected to finish ninth in the Big South Conference, led by head coach Todd Dyer and assistant Rich Stoneman.
LAST TIMEOUT
In their toughest challenge of the season, the Bison were unable to slow down UVA Saturday (Sept. 8), falling, 3-0. The Cavs took 33 shots, including 18 in the second period, while staying unbeaten.
Knox (Atlanta) battled with 11 saves in the loss.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
On Sept. 19, Howard concludes its road swing, facing off against Stonehill College Skyhawks in its conference opener. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m., at Skyhawk Field.
