EMMITSBURG, Md. (August 30, 2024) -Howard University men's and women's cross country opened the 2024 campaign with solid outings, each taking second place at the annual Mount 5K Duals, hosted by Mount St. Mary's.
Overall, 10 Bison made their collegiate debut.
All-MEAC selection senior
Joslyn Crosby (Bossier City, La.), finishing runner-up with a 18:30.47 mark, followed by newcomer
Mira Martin (Columbus, Ohio) with a 19:04.74 time.
On the women's side, four Bison placed in the top 10: Crosby; Martin; junior
Jordyn Miller (Chicago) and DMV native freshman
Kendall Robinson (Bowie, Md.).
For the men, rookie
Eyob Gill (Arden, N.C.) took seventh overall in his collegiate debut (15:41.82). Fellow classmate
Habtamu Epley (Chicago) also placed in the top 10, earning ninth in the standings (15:55.46).
UMBC won both sides, respectively, led by Mark Unger and Alexis Tepper with first-place finishes.
On Sept. 13, Howard goes to Smyrna, Del., for the DSU Invite, hosted by Delaware State. First race starts at 10 a.m.
