BRIDGEWATER, N.J. (August 19, 2024) – The Northeast Conference (NEC) unveiled its women's soccer weekly accolades where Howard University sophomore forward
Mimi Richards (Silver Spring, Md.) took home the league's Player of the Week award. The announcement came Monday afternoon.
In Thursday's (Aug. 15) season-opening victory over Saint Peter's, Richards scored twice to propel HU to a 4-2 win over the Peacocks.
On the young season, she leads the NEC with four points.
Rookie
Hailey Ayers (Lorton, Va.) made the NEC Prime Performers list, along with Richards, after recording her first collegiate shutout in the tie at Hampton (Aug. 18).
Saint Francis' Emma Sawich and Anouk Landgraff won NEC Defensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively.
Thursday (Aug. 22), the Bison return to Greene Stadium to host George Mason in a nonconference showdown on International night. Match time is set for 7 p.m.
