MATCHUP PREVIEW

HOWARD (9-6-3, 7-2-2 NEC – #3 Seed)

Howard enters the postseason looking to rebound after a 2–0 road loss at FDU in the regular-season finale (Nov. 2). The Bison still secured the No. 3 seed, finishing one of their most successful conference slates since joining the NEC.

In the defeat, Trinity Knox (Atlanta) made three saves while Jaileen De Freitas (Miramar, Fla.) and Asia Mickens-Perez (Upper Marlboro, Md.) each recorded shots on goal. Rachel Suttle (Smyrna, Ga.) and Bre'Elle Dean (North Ogden, Utah) anchored a disciplined back line that limited FDU's high-powered attack to 12 total shots.

Howard's balanced offense has been key all season with Gabriella Garcia-Terrell (Herndon, Va.) leading the way at nine goals, followed closely by Mickens-Perez and Alauna Rutland (Fairfax, Va.) with multiple tallies each.

Defensively, Knox has registered six clean sheets, including back-to-back shutouts to close October.

The Bison will now look to replicate their earlier-season success against Wagner when they defeated the Seahawks, 2-1, at Greene Stadium (Sept. 25).

#2 WAGNER COLLEGE (9-2-6, 8-1-2 NEC – #2 Seed)

Wagner enters Thursday's semifinal on a three-match winning streak after defeating LIU 3–0 to close the regular season. The Seahawks' eight NEC victories mark a new program record.

Sophomore Deirdre Meberg, freshman Riley Frederick and senior Izzy Gomez led the attack in the win with Gomez ranking fourth in the NEC in total goals (7). Goalkeeper Abigail Marcello earned her third straight shutout and enters the postseason tied for the conference lead with five clean sheets.

Wagner's defense has been elite at home, conceding just two goals in its last five matches at Hameline Field. The Seahawks will also be seeking revenge against Howard after falling, 2-1, in their earlier meeting this season.

LAST TIMEOUT

Howard dropped its regular-season finale at FDU 2–0 with Knox making three saves and the Bison earning three corner kicks.

Despite the loss, Howard secured the No. 3 seed in the NEC Tournament.

UPCOMING SCHEDULE

With a victory, Howard will advance to the NEC Championship match Sunday (Nov.9), facing the winner of No. 1 FDU and No. 4 Sacred Heart. Kickoff time and broadcast details will be announced following the semifinal results.
