WASHINGTON (MAY 11, 2024) – Howard University men's golf team is set to compete in its first-ever NCAA Division I Regionals where they will take part in the Chapel Hill Region as a No. 13 seed. The three-day event (May 13-15) takes place at the Finley Golf Club, hosted by the North Carolina (UNC) Tar Heels.

TOURNAMENT PREVIEW
UNC received the top spot in the stacked Chapel Hill region. Teams competing in the Chapel Hill region include Howard, North Carolina, Alabama, Ball State, Baylor, Clemson, East Tennessee State, Georgia Tech, LMU, Long Beach State, Michigan State, Northwestern and VCU.
The field consists of six regional sites — three with 13 teams and 10 individual qualifiers and three with 14 teams and five individual qualifiers. Overall, there are 81 qualifying teams.
The other top seeds include Auburn, Arizona State, Florida State, Tennessee and Vanderbilt.
HU earned an automatic bid to the tournament after winning its first Northeast Conference (NEC) championship.
LAST TIMEOUT
Sunday (April 28), the Bison captured its first NEC title in Pine Mountain, Ga.
HU led start-to-finish in this year's tourney with record-setting performances. Collectively, Howard shot an impressive 5-under par (859) in 54 holes of action.
Four Bison were named to the NEC All-Tournament Team after finishing in the top 10 individually, led by graduate
Gregory Odom Jr. (Memphis, Tenn.) tying for third overall (215, -1).

Marcus Smith Jr. (Rockford, Ill.) and freshman
Bear Huff (Riverside, Calif.) joined Odom on the All-Tournament Team.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
The top five clubs from each site advances to the NCAA Championships in Carlsbad, Calif. (May 24-29), held at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa.
