WASHINGTON (May 1, 2024) – Howard University men's golf team earned the No. 13 seed in the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional where they will compete at the Finley Golf Club, hosted by the North Carolina (UNC) Tar Heels. The announcement took place during the NCAA Selection Show, live on the Golf Channel Wednesday afternoon.
The squad watched the announcement at the Argyle Country Club in Silver Springs, Md.
Sunday (April 28), the Bison captured its first Northeast Conference (NEC) title in Pine Mountain, Ga.
HU led start-to-finish in this year's tourney with record-setting performances. Collectively, Howard shot an impressive 5-under par (859) in 54 holes of action.
Four Bison were named to the NEC All-Tournament Team after finishing in the top 10 individually, led by graduate
Gregory Odom Jr. (Memphis, Tenn.) tying for third overall (215, -1).

Marcus Smith Jr. (Rockford, Ill.) and freshman
Bear Huff (Riverside, Calif.) joined Odom on the All-Tournament Team.
The field consists of six regional sites — three with 13 teams and 10 individual qualifiers and three with 14 teams and five individual qualifiers. Overall, there are 81 qualifying teams.
UNC received the top spot in the stacked Chapel Hill region. Teams competing in the Chapel Hill region include Howard, North Carolina, Alabama, Ball State, Baylor, Clemson, East Tennessee State, Georgia Tech, LMU, Long Beach State, Michigan State, Northwestern and VCU.
The regionals are set for May 13-15 with the top five clubs from each site advancing to the NCAA Championships in Carlsbad, Calif. (May 24-29), held at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa.
